It's 5 years since we brought Active Root to our first customers. Each week in August we're going to be reviewing one of those years - this week 2020!

We had big plans for 2020, but like everyone else these were put to bed by the pandemic. Despite this, we still managed to launch our unique, waste free Gel Mix, move into a warehouse and employ another member of staff, as well as win a relay race in the early part of the year!

To celebrate half a decade of Active Root, we're giving away 1x Original Ginger 6 pack (our first product!), with EVERY ORDER OVER £5 in August.

Gel Mix: the solution to sticky, single use gels.

We launched Gel Mix as a way to solve the problem of sticky, single use gels that often do more harm than good when you use them.

 Gel Mix is contained in a reusable Soft Flask, which holds the equivalent of 3-4 Gel servings. Not only is this a waste free solution, it means you can consume the gel more gradually rather than in one, so you don't get any blood sugar spikes. 

New team member!

In the summer of 2020 we welcomed Sarah to the team. Originally employed to look after the warehouse part-time, Sarah's role quickly evolved as she began to manage our social media as well.

From back ROOM to OFFICE / warehouse 

We finally outgrew our back room and moved to an a hybrid office / warehouse set up just outside of Edinburgh. We still work from here today.

Having our warehouse and office teams close together creates an efficient and dynamic working environment. This enables us to provide our best customer service possible for our customers.

Relay Win

Although there weren't many races in 2020, we did take part in the Falkirk 8hr Ultra in February 2020. On top of hydrating the race, we also entered a 4-person team, winning our category (fuelled all the way by Active Root!). 

For all of August we are giving away 1x Original Ginger 6x Sachet Pack with all orders over £5 (automatically added to basket). Alongside our Original Ginger Sports Drink Tub, this was our first product with each sachet being plain white, which we had to stick our own printed label on to!
